The much-needed (and difficult) forum upgrade has been completed. Thank you all for your patience with this long process, it has taken many person hours on the part of your volunteer editorial staff. Enjoy!
Please note that there is a new login widgit in the left navigation area – if you wish to post, please be sure to log in. There is a lost password link as well. A further improvement is that the search box on the front page will now search the forums as well as the blog posts.
If you have any comments on the new forum or encounter any troubles, there is a topic available to post your thoughts.
For those of you in the USA, Happy Thanksgiving! We are looking forward to renewed discussions of our shared craft.

You may have noticed the the dagforum is still being beset by spam comments. As a result the forum has been taken down while admins Andy and Jon work on upgrading it. Its complicated as the site is database driven with wordpress blogging software integrated with the bbpress forum software. Add to the wiki to that and you will see how we like to make life difficult for ourselves. Bear with us and the forum with all the threads should be back in place soon.

A gallery page has been added for the talented Lukas Fritz, a 19 year old student from Munich, Germany. He has been making daguerreotypes for just a year with most of that time spent building the equipment (fuming boxes, mercury pot). Lukas is no stranger to demanding technical projects, as one of his websites shows (check his cocktail making machine!).
