Here is a little “collection” of our various black spots, taken from a bad miscroscope. We continue doing tests and reading, changing lots of variables, even plate provider…still we do have some.
We’ve started the developpement from very cold, for a test, and it did increase huggely the amount of spots.
We went back to a 85/90 degre developpement…
from the same plates, a becquerel comes casi perfect. We keep you informed when progress are coming !
Best regards

Thanks for your answer but all you said was done! We solved the problem increasing the temperature from 60ºC to 80ºC and develop for 4 minutes instead 10 minutes and those very circular spots disappear!
We only had those spots with Mdag not with Bdag.
Best!
SimonesimonechoulleParticipantHi
Problems solved. It came from 2 lenses symmar, a 210mm and a 165mm (barrel type). We used lens hood. We’ve tested the fogged plates with a tessar and an Heliar (small lenses) and no fog.
I use the symmars for collodion and no fog problems.
Can it be a return reflection on dag…we will keep small lenses for dag.

They look burned! And for a second cycle still look contrasty! I will reduce exposition of 1 stop to 1 1/2 stop.
Tests tests tests more testssssssss………….
SimonesimonechoulleParticipantHi all,
I succeed to make images on the plate that fogged: I reduce exposure and developing time (1 stop less than usual), 30 minutes development under amberlith. I will do more tests and post them

plate for Hasselblad size, 2,2×2,2 inch…thanks for ur post, hope to see you tomorrow.SimonesimonechoulleParticipantsimonechoulleParticipantsimonechoulleParticipantBonjour !
So i made new tests in accord with your advices.
First, I clean better my plates, but I have to improve !
Second, I increase the Becq. development : 5 hours to day light
Result, the clear stains disappear !!!!! And the blue tone faded !
So Irv you were right and I thank you for your great help !
The test…the camera moved when I put the film holder, so the focus is pityfull!!
The plate was an old gilded test that I tried to polish again, I think I can improve.
Does anyone have an idea how to erase all from a gilded plate ?
Data for the test :
Iodine magenta/purple first cycle
EV11
f5,6 – 20 minutes
Fix 8 minutes
5h dev under 2 layers of rubylith, the image begins to appear after 8 minutes only the white background
Gilded
The coat of the virgen is made of red velvet !
Next time I’ll post a dag not a test !
Thanks for all
Simone
