I’m Rob Mertz, many years at photography, almost as many interested in daguerreotypes. I read an article in the early 1970’s that someone had made a modern daguerreotype, but it took me until 1998 to meet Ken Nelson and have him pull one of his images out of the trunk of his car at the George Eastman House Wow, was I ever hooked again by seeing that modern dag! I’ve only made a handful of images since 2000 and I am setting up my tools and process so I can take many more.
