I had this pot fabricated by a friend and I made the double slide plate holder/seat out of walnut. There is a removable plate holder for the mercury pot and they have independent slides that interlock when the plate holder is on the pot then both slides are drawn to start development. The slides and pot are mild steel but the pot has been painted black and the mercury cup and slides are bare metal. The pot adjusts up and down and can be heated with a common spirit lamp. The base is a heavy steel slap the will prevent the unit from tipping. The mercury cup is a steel pipe cape permanently welded at the base and has a lid with a gasket to seal in the mercury inside the pot. The mercury cup is heated by a temperature controlled unit. It is fairly accurate and works well. I have been offered a chance to buy a much nicer unit and I don’t need two pots so pleas contact me if you are interested. It cost $500 to fabricate and the the temperature controller cost another $100. I will sell the pot and the temperature controller separately. I am asking $600 for both. It comes with a cap for the mercury cup with gasket, temperature controller, k-type thermometer and heating mantle. The pot will do whole plate as is and has never had mercury in the cup.

Send me a zip code for a shipping estimate.

    Daniel,

I would be interested in the pot and controller. My zip code is 92129 (San Diego). Congrats on the expected little one; I hope for their sake you have been too busy to consider working with any Hg at all lately. ;)

Thanks very much! I the baby arrives in late February and I very excited. I plan on starting up with the mercury after the baby arrives but I am going to fiddle with becquerel until then to get my polishing in good order. I estimate the package at like 25-30#. I can ship it ups ground and it will be right around $30-35 bucks to San Diego. If that works for you can you then we proceed off the forum. let me know
