Electroplated few copperplates and polished them good. Tried to fume today and colors were changeing fast. Plate was heated. Box height is about 2,5″, 5cm and plate about 10x10cm. Meters sensor is inside the fuming box. That is my first dagplate ever. I get good results with wetplate, so i wanted to move on. Mercury seems bit complicated, but bercquerel is something that i can do.

Whats is good roomtemp and humidity?
How much do i have to heat the plate?
What is the color that im looking for? Forum is giving various answers.
    Why its uneven?

I would guess you heated the plate too much. It should just be warm to the touch.
Room temp (18-21*C) is fine, humidity can be a problem so keep a silica gel pack in the corner of the iodine box and heat the plates (warm to the touch only) before you fume.
My suggestion is to start your experiments with Becquerel development with a plate that is mostly dark yellow with touch of magenta.

Sensitized to first magenta, then added littlebit before it changed. Exposure was 7min, f2, scene EV 9-11. Now waiting plate under ruby glass (artshop said its russian red) in front of 1000w halogen and nothing happening, its been there 20min. Before that it was under natural light about 2hours, its winter and cloudy and Estonia is quite far in north, so i put it under halogen. Plate was self-electroplated copper.

Canceled development and plate was brown with little magenta left there. But no mark of image or such. Insufficient senzitation? First it was bit yellowish or light brown, then darker, then magenta. After that i gave some 10sec and to the plateholder.

How quickly it’s changing colour between yellow, rose and purple? Maybe with that 10 sec you passed magenta if it’s fast.

I saw rose, yellow-green and those colors when i did my first fuming try, which was uneven. Colorchange today was slow, i checked every 20sec and change was minor. I’ll post photos tomorrow.
