Every time I work I get a little closer to “getting it” but so far it keeps eluding me. The vitals for the attached dag:

    Warmed plate
    I – 30 B – 10 I – 12

Exposed at 2-1/2 minutes and developed for 2.5 minutes at 196 degrees.

I am thinking that it is probably over-exposed? Of course I could be completely wrong : ( Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most likely too much bromine. Perhaps run a bromine test stip. You may also want to dilute your bromine a little bit.

It could also be fog–did you expose the plate to light before or during development?

Thank you. I kept the plate in almost total darkness while taking from the filmholder to development. Will keep experimenting.

See if this test plate helps you. The image was in bright sun, EV of 16.

I think your image is overexposed and over bromined.
