    Hello

Can anyone tell me how to make fixer solution for removing the unexposed silver iodide from the Daguerreotype?

Do I need only sodium thiosaulfate or should I add sodium sulfite to the solution.

How many grams do I have to add to 500 ml of water?

    Thank you!

    Hello dafna,

The wiki lists a 1 L fixer solution which uses 15 grams Sodium Thiosulfate and 15 grams Sodium Sulfite. For 500 mL, just half the amounts: 7.5 grams each Sodium Thiosulfate and Sodium Sulfite.

More discussion on Sodium Sulfite can be found here: http://www.cdags.org/dagforum/topic.php?id=91#post-1328

    Enjoy!
