After a little over a year of gathering up the equipment and some bromine on the way, I have made my first few images. Both images are 1/4 plate iodine only and mercury developed at 170 for 6 minutes for the camera and 4 for the cherub. I used large CFL grow lights in a softbox for my lighting. The shot of the camera on the stand was was 45 minutes and the cherub was 30 minutes. Both images were polished first with an electric buffing wheel and then hand buffed with rouge. The cherub got an additional buff with lamp black. I can tell that the shot of the camera is overdeveloped due to the frost in the shadow areas but I am wondering about the cherub. It has areas that appear as dark spots but in fact there is simply no image in those areas. Anyway, any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I am extremely happy to have the first two plates(aside from the plates I made at the M.Robinson workshop at GEH)develop images on them.
