Daguerreian Tech
For the Imageobject event we would like to encourage daguerreotypists and makers of daguerreotype equipment, to display equipment on the day of the symposium (Wednesday April the 3rd). Fuming boxes, Mercury pots, cameras, dark slides, buffing paddles, if you use it to make dags we would like it to generate discussion.
We will be having a series of talks in the Canter for Alternative Photography’s skylight studio (upstairs from the exhibition space) the day following the opening gala. Alongside new equipment for sale we would like to encourage people to display their equipment to aid in the forum of discussion and sharing of ideas.
If you’re not attending you can ship equipment for display (for sale or not) but you will have to cover the cost of shipping to and returning from, as the artists are doing with the artworks on display. We will be staffing the exhibit and symposium and will take good care of the equipment and ensure it gets back to you.
Our aim is to encourage and support the makers of daguerreian equipment so that it is easier for people to obtain and take up the art.
