Welcome to the newly updated CDags bbPress forum. Thanks for your patience while we made this difficult transition. Hopefully the upgrade will assist with the spamming problem we were having. Keeping up with the bogus posts was wearing out the admins!

Please reply to this topic to let us know about any problems you encounter with the forum. Getting used to a new piece of software can be challenging. If you notice anything that doesn’t look quite right we would like to know

We are looking forward to the new reports from the field, questions and discussion!

As an addendum, I was a little disappointed in the new forum software because I did not see a “new posts,” but realized that the “Forums” menu (up top, next to “Contemporary Daguerreotypes”) has a “views” submenu which allows “latests topics” to be selected.

One more observation: It is very difficult to locate the “login,” eventually I managed to login through the “Site Admin” button on the bottom right, but it is not immediately clear nor it is clear how you register to use this forum. Perhaps this should be made clearer with a login and register button on top?

Hi Jason-

Because the site is now more integrated, the login on the front page is good for the forum too. You can also have the site keep you logged on by clicking the check box.The widget is to be found in the left navigation under the Translation flags.

That same widget can be used for new registrants. We are still actively discussing what navigation should appear on the Forum pages, so all suggestions are welcome.
